lcnc™ v2.0 Demo Disk Instructions - January 1992
Overview:
Logical Computer Numeric Control (lcnc) is a full featured text editor
combined with a specialized communications program, created for the
manufacturing industry. Designed to be run on Apple Macintosh
computers, LCNC is a powerful tool for use on the shop floor, by machine
operators. All program storage, retrieval, upload, download, edit, and
print operations may be performed quickly and seamlessly from within
one application.
LCNC connects serially to any NC machine. All manufactures controls
with serial upload/download capabilities will function with LCNC. A BTR
interface may be added to most older machines to allow serial I/O.
LCNC’s powerful NC code editor is designed specifically to assist in
code modification on the shop floor. Automatic code formatting removes
bad characters, fixes comment strings, and formats the code for easy
viewing and editing. Block (line) numbering options allow renumbering,
number after comments, or numbering removal.
Full search and replace capabilities aid in changing code from one
machine type to another. Full undo, cut, copy, paste, clear, and a host of
file handling features make working in the LCNC environment easy and
very productive.
Designed to replace paper tape and manufacturer-specific disk transfer
units, the cost effective solution of LCNC works. All existing programs on
tape, disk or in control memory are easily stored on the computer’s
internal drive. Machine parameter information may be saved on disk as
well, ensuring quick recovery from the unexpected. Data backup
capabilities virtually eliminate the possibility of losing programs. Network
ready, the LCNC system has the power and flexibility to advance the
productivity of any shop environment.
About The Demo:
To run the LCNC demo, you will need a Mac Plus or better with
System 6.0.5 or better, 4 megs RAM and a 3.5” floppy drive. The demo
has no system on the disk.
A small demo file called “small demo” is included for your evaluation.
The demo version does not save to disk, send serial data, or allow a
paste in the terminal mode. You may open existing files from disk,
receive new files serially, and print your code.
The software is not copy protected, and may be freely distributed.
